Another First/Second Impression

I realize this is a duplicate posting and there already is a thread with
this context, but I being an individual don't want to be buried in a thread
with 300 entries. I WANNA BE HEARD. Okay, here's my thoughts.

System:

ASUS V7700 GeForce2 GTS 32Mb
64Mb
MSFF Wheel

Initially I was really disappointed with GP3, I couldn't believe after all
the hype and .mov, .avi, .whatever files I have seen that this was the sim I
was waiting for. I couldn't get my vid card to do H/W accel. I was running
in S/W mode at 640x480 w/ 23fps. I thought this is crap, what did Crammond
do with the 4 years. Utterly baffled I ranted to a friend and vowed to go
back to GPL.

Today (5 days later) I tried it GP3 again. Not expecting anything different,
I tried to get my vid card working. This time I didn't let the game do the
auto-setup (after fresh install), I chose my settings manually and they
worked right off the bat. Go figure!!! So now I'm running at 1280x1024 w/
26fps and a PO around 120-140%.

I am much more pleased with GP3 and I do believe that is directly related to
the eye-candy that I can now see.

I am also experiencing the left pull problem, but to me it feels like the
game is doing the correct force but in the wrong direction. Almost as though
the coder put the wrong value scale in the left FFB. I don't know, thats
just a guess.

I am also curious which cars others are driving and the impressions of those
cars.

I have driven the Ferrari and the McLaren, I couldn't keep the Ferrari
straight for the life of me, but the McLaren was easy to drive by
comparison, just not as fast. Please post your opinions about this.

Thanks for your time.

It's more likely a psychological reason, all cars performance are
modelled the same when being driven by the human, however, I think the
reliability may vary depending on which team you choose.

Cheers,
Rod.
