wingman is slow for no reason

by repo » Mon, 09 Aug 2004 07:48:49

hi..

for the past month or so i've been using an old (7 years approx)
thrustmaster GP1 with the paddles behind the wheel for brake and accel.
wheel has been fine, but the pots are beginning to go..

so bought a wingman formula GT (the yellow one) and immedialtly lost 2
seconds a lap (LFS for instance) the cars wont accelerate as quick in a
straight line nothing.. i can't see any obvious reason for this..
anyone any experience with this?

Aside from calibration issues, your profiler software may not match
the settings for your old wheel.  So if you had a throttle response that
hit hard with the TM, maybe the WIngman has a much softer pedal curve
response.

Go to the Team Wingman site...look for their gadgets and grab a utility
called clear calibration.   Run that...it will clean out all the old data
that Windows used for the TM wheel.  Then reload your Logi in windows and
calibrate it in there...then load your sims and re-calibrate each one.

good luck

thanks dave..
i downloaded  dxtweak2 and had a look at the responses on both wheels and
the curve is markedley different. this is probably whats part of my
frustration.

will have to learn how to use dx and improve the curve on the wingman..

again thanks
