Steering Wheel Problems

by Dane Hugh » Wed, 28 Jun 1995 04:00:00

I had Nascar racing installed on a Gateway 2000 P5-90 with
a Sound Blaster and everything was great.  I have moved up to
a Gateway 2000 P5-120 with an Ensoniq Soundscape wavetable card.  I
get sound but my steering wheel (T1 Thrustmaster) does not work.

In the setup there is no selection for my card, only an Ensoniq 8 bit
stereo.  If i use that option I get sound but no steering.  if i try to
use a soundblaster I don't even get sound.  I have checked my IRQs, ports,
and DMA channels and they are all set correctly.

Does anyone have any suggestions???

Hi Dane,

I don't know much about the Ensoniq sound card, but does it have a dual port
joystick port?  If it does then make sure that it is the only game port which
is enabled.  Many Multi I/O cards in computers contain built in game ports and
you should only have one game port enabled on your computer.  I have disabled
my game port on my I/O card and on my Sound Blaster 16 SCSI and am using an
Advanced Gravis Eliminator Game Card with 2 dual ports.  That is my only game
port that is enabled.  I hope this helps.
