directory structure?
Reason for it is that my 2 year old copy of GPL seems to have stopped
working. I just bought a new PC with a fresh hard drive, and when I tried
reinstalling I got a message saying that the CD is not a valid one and that
I need to contact my vendor - a bit odd, especially as I'd ported over the
same old DVD drive I've always used, which I'm sure it worked okay on
before. Anyway, I've copied all the files over manually and applied the
no-cd fix but I still can't get the game to work because when I load it up
and enter in a new driver, it says that it can't create a new player file.
At this point you're stuck, because GPL has disabled the key combinations
that return you to the desktop.
I've already disabled the read-only tag off the files and directories, but I
was wondering whether I need to create a new directory for the player files
to be saved in. Currently I have the following (straight off the CD, as
already mentioned):
d:\games\racing\sierra\gpl\
+ cars
+ effects
+ font
+ install
+ layout
+ objs
+ replay
+ seasons
+ sound
+ tracks
I've written to the sierra tech. support team but I've had no reply. Please
help. I'm so desperate for my fix. <sniffle>
