Various Racing Series Points Schedules

I'm writing the results massaging module for DeMONS/3, and one of the
features of the module is that it allows you to pick your own
favorite points schedule to use for scoring races.  This also
includes coming up with your own custom poinst schedules.

The module will come with as many pre-defined points schedules as I
can find, and so far, I have schedules for the following series:

   NASCAR
   IRL
   CART
   F1
   IROC
   CASCAR

I was looking around for a points schedule for Austrailian V8
Supercars, but apparently they have some new super-secret way to
award points, and I can't find it (or the prior points schedule)
described anywhere.

If you know the points system for V8 supercars, I'd like to know what
it is.

If you know of a real-life racing series that has a different points
schedule that you think is suited to Nascar Racing sims, let me know.

Christ almightie!  Each event could potentially have it's own points
schedule?  No wonder the superceded that (and people think Nascar
points system doesn't make any sense).

Well, I think I'm gonna use the one used by most of the tracks. 1st=
80, 2nd=64, and so on. If anyone wants to add the others, they can be
my guest.

Thanks for the info.
:)

Can you also set it up like the FIA GT series where the 24hr race at
Spa counts for Quad points?  Points are awarded every 6 hours as if a race
had been completed.  If you are leading at each of the four 6 hour marks,
it's like winning 4 races back to back.  :)
