In real life, anyway, the stagger is a difference of circumferences between the
left side and right side tires. How it affects an indy car, very drasticly. The
tire stagger helps the car by making a bit of a conic shape to the tires, like
 so   :                          ________
                -------         |        |
               |       |        |        |
               |       |        |        |
                -------          --------
This helps the car turn. If it is set up with the right stagger and other
settings, the car should be able to drive any line in the turns. Making it too
small usually makes a push(the car doesn't want to turn), and too much can
cause a car to be loose(the car wants to spin out in the turn). The only places
where you you would even think of going over 0.750 inches is maybe Milwawkee,
or slow ovals(laps under 160 mph). Because stagger taken to the extreme could
also***up the transmission differential.
                             That's all for now.

What are sensible stagger adjustments in ICR?  The manual says something
like "little stagger adjustments have big effects".  And in my experience
this is true.  But I see various setups with staggers of more than 1.0"
stagger!  If this is true, why does ICR set the ***y thing in increments
of 0.001"?   (And what do real IndyCars use?)

In real life stagger is dependant upon what the tire supplier
chooses to supply.  If I remember right, at Indy this year
Goodyear offered +1/64 and +1/32 inch RR tires.

IMHO the stagger in ICR offers too many and too large a choice.
the stagger that works best is dependant upon the track and the
speeds.  Phoenix and Naz respond well to LARGE amounts of stagger
while Michigan and Indy only need a little.
