I'm really fed up now! (Quick Update)

Hi All,

Sorry guy's, just checked the original thread and didn't realise you were
still trying to help! My apologies to you all, as I thought this thread
would have been dead ages ago! Yes, you are 100% correct though, when you
say that standing still in the car, and turning the MY FF wheel, at the
"centre" point it produces NO movement on the "cars visible" steering wheel.
(Duh! hope that makes sense to you!). There is indeed, far more NULL
DEADZONE play than I would be happy with. Tried DX-Tweak, and the progs from
the other site suggested here, ( CTFJ 3.20), and although they helped a
little, they didn't cure it as much as I had hoped! Ah well, never mind,
with the release of Milano and Riveside, which seem to produce wonderful FF
effects, I seem to be getting a little more used to it. I have gone back to
the "standard" core.ini settings for GPL, and have lowered the FF down to
70% overall, 60% spring gain and 100% Damper gain. This is still very much
at the experimental stage but, it appears to be easier already. Many thanks
for all your help and suggestions. I love this excellent newsgroup and the
helpful people here!

I notice you are using 60% spring gain. GPL doesn't use spring effects so
you should set this to zero.  People have reported problems with your type
of wheel when it isn't set to zero.  I also suggest that you have a look at
http://www.slottweak.com where there is an excellent guide on setting up a
Ferrari FF wheel for GPL.

Cheers
