This is a good price? I'm looking at a 21" Hitachi that I just picked up off
of eBay that is the greatest thing I've ever seen and I only payed $350
including the shipping. Yes, it's used but it looks brand new and works
flawlessly.

C'mon Daxe, you can't go back more than a couple of months comparing
computer hardware prices. Monitor prices have plummeted since you
bought yours.

I guess what I am saying is that this is and has been an excellent
monitor, even having paid 1300$ for it. If anyone is thinking of
buying a 21" monitor, they would not be ill advised to consider the
Viewsonic G810, especially for 600-700$.
That make more sense?

I agree Eldred. If I'm going to pay $1300 for a monitor it better be a flat
panel of no less than 19". Truth be known, I'm not buying one of those until
they drop to less than $500. My Hitachi was bought used on eBay for $350
total. Has a dot pitch of .22 and God knows how many user settings. I have
no clue because I've not taken the time to figure it out. It looks brand new
and everyone that has seen it is quite impressed. With what you can get
monitors for on eBay anymore, you'd be crazy to spend more than $400,
including shipping for a 21" monitor. Hell, you can get factory refurbed Sony
Trinitrons for less than $400 and I don't think you're going to find better
than that.

Sonys are nice if you like that shadowline that goes across the
screen about 2/3 of the way down. I have a 15" Sony trinitron here
that looks great but it has that dang line...I gave it to my wife.

Ok..it wasn't really 1300$ it was 1298$ plus shipping.
Considering how much time I spend sitting here, it was easy to
justify. Heck, just wanting it was enough justification for me.

If I *knew* that monitor would gain me 30 seconds....well, I'd still have to
think about it. Maybe I can gain 15 seconds with a $500 monitor...<g>
