I hope no one got paid too much for writing the manual but its a
shocker with several examples of doubled sentences and repeated
explanation.
Nice one microprose - an otherwise near perfect product is let down
because you appear to have used a copy writer more used to games to
write a technical explanation for a simulator. Why not get the manuals
proof read and tested by the beta testers and the manuals written by
a race tech.
I pitty anyone who has not had to set up a real car as there is little
chance the manual would give you any assistance.
The major ommissions are:-
* an overview of the car dynamics including pitch, roll, and jacking
breaking and acceleration weight transfers in relation to tyre
wear and grip and cornering speed.
* illustrated suspension operation showing the various load paths and
status in different situations.
* clear explanations on the process of setting up the car
(you don't need a pointed black hat and a wand in real life)
* a setup log sheet which you can use to record settings
(i've had to set up my own in excel if anyone wants one LMK)
Nice pictures though !
I would suggest that anyone who needs some help would be best
visiting the library or a good motorsport bookshop and getting a
basic book on car setup. Unfortunately my library is a little too hard
to post.
Having a a ball though on my work P5-133
BTW My old 486DX-33 will run GP2 with all detail off and at sufficient
speed (practice only) to allow me to use if for testing so for
those of you wondering if you must get a new PC this weekend -
maybe you can wait a few more weeks to upgrade.
