2013 on rec.autos.simulators
In 2013 the group had almost no sim-racing content. The archive holds no news items and no notable threads, only a few posts among the spam that by now made up most of the traffic. The handful of veterans who still checked in were mostly Grand Prix Legends fans. A rare on-topic exchange looked ahead to Project CARS, which posters hoped would come out that year, and it included a claim about where the old Papyrus GPL developers had gone. Sim racers now met on web forums, iRacing's own forums and social media. Twenty years after its creation, rec.autos.simulators survived mainly as an archive of the hobby's Usenet era.
