What's with LFS?

Mock complaint about LFS posts sparks Monty Python fest

Jon complained in jest about the number of Live for Speed posts, and several readers took it seriously before it was explained as a joke tied to the RASCAR debates. The thread became a Monty Python quotation session, with Petri Blomqvist reposting his 'Coders of RAS' song and others noting LFS's animated driver hands.

Don't mean to piss anyone off, but for chrissakes people, can't you LFS nuts go somewhere else ? I have dozens of posts popping up in my newsreader. It would be bad enough if they were all 2K, but some are even as big as 3K. Thank God for DSL, or I would be here all day just downloading them.

I am not a regular here, but I don't see the problem actually. Or you like the group, and you subscribe to it, or you don't, and then I would unsubscribe. Guess he doesnt like LFS though. "Don't mean to piss anyone off" .. worst start for a post I guess. jon wrote:

I'm hoping this is a goof, because if it's for real, I don't get it. All the off topic crap posted on other game groups, and we actually have people here bitching about on topic RASCAR and LFS threads? Well I used to think the loop at the Glen was a good suicide spot, but the silly soft haybales just don't cut it. Last time I limped back on and needed Jan to finish me off, very messy. Naturally the Judean People's Front apologised for the affair, and resolved not to use it for suicide attacks until someone modifies the track and replaces the bales with something much stronger and car destroying. The Ring seems a natural for the up & coming kamikaze trainee. However, it can be hard to get noticed with the lack of lapping traffic. As for the People's front of Judea, all they could do was to resolve that David Powell would be known as Loretta on RAS from now on, and they would fight the oppressors for his right to have babies. The objection "You haven't got a womb! Where's the foetus going to gestate?! You going to keep it in a box?!" was overruled.
