Valentino Rossi clinches MotoGP title

Posters congratulated Valentino Rossi on winning the MotoGP championship in a wet race and discussed his career win percentage. Dave Henrie asked people to label race spoilers for those watching delayed coverage. The conversation moved to AMA motocross and Nicky Hayden joining Rossi at Honda.

A true champion never settles for 2nd place. Brilliant.
Fully agreed. Anyone passing Rossi seemed to crash shortly after, Valentino knew exactly what speed was possible in the wet. "redTed" <[email hidden]> schrieb im Newsbeitrag news:amictc$60qi2$[email hidden]... > A true champion never settles for 2nd place. Brilliant. > >

Dang near all of us here are Race fans, and a good race is always a welcome topic. BUT. There are plenty of us who don't get same day coverage, or don't have the time to watch it live. A header that included MOTO GP and Spoiler would have been a more considerate choice. Some users here have even included a blank first message in a thread so speed readers don't open the next message before realizing it contains race results. dave(the spoiler Nazi) henrie

Agreed, and he will be the only rider ever in human (or non ;) ) existsance to win a 125, 250, 500, & MotoGP world championship. Not bad huh? :) Cool Hand Luke -=87=- "redTed" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:amictc$60qi2$[email hidden]... > A true champion never settles for 2nd place. Brilliant. > >

Dont forget he also have won 50% of his MotoGP races!. Not even M.Schumacher gets close to that record!. Did you watch the pre-race "Rossi special" video?. AWESOME!. That guy had talent already as a kid. They showed videoclips of Rossi at the age 5-6years maybe, driving a gocart around rallystyle opposite lock :D looked great.. and they also showed him when he drove real rallycars, and he was awesome at Rally Masters, almost as fast as the real WRC-drivers!. Cant wait for the english rally when he is gonna drive the Peggy 206 WRC :) Not to mention that Rossi can actually say nice words about his competitors too. He thought Checa was from another planet, driving that fast :) omg.. im getting too excited now.. time to do something else :) "Luke Phillips" <(NOSPM)[email hidden]> wrote in message news:0Mbj9.5841$[email hidden]... > Agreed, and he will be the only rider ever in human (or non ;) )existsance

Never heard of AMA, but how is the competition there? In MotoGP 500cc/4stroke, its hard competion, not like in F1. "Dave Henrie" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:p7kj9.363424$[email hidden]...

MotoGP is a new class this year. :) -- Gunnar #31 SUCKS#015 Tupperware MC#002 DoD#0x1B DoDRT#003 DoD:CT#4,8 Kibo: 2 gnus don't kill people. gnus-summary-lower-score kills people.

I dunno how to judge the competition except to say the Americans have practically owned the Trophee des Nations events since the early 80's. So if you win in Motocross in the States, you must be up there. I think the next Trophee event is this or next weekend, in California. The Euro/World Champ will be there, so RC may get a stiff challenge. (of course it was an American<Ron Lechein> on a 125cc who, in the early 80's, beat the World Champ riding a 500cc bike during one of these des Nations competitions) :) dave henrie
Nicky Hayden is the current AMA superbike champ, Next year he will be Rossi's team mate, so it should be very interesting. "Dave Henrie" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:36tj9.405239$[email hidden]...

Yeah, indeed very interesting. The AMA Motocross/Supercroos has definatley some of the best riders in the world (for mx/sx anyway). The AMA superbikes, i have a different perspective on after going over there late last year to look for a ride... They have 5-10 top quality riders on even better bikes, then they have a bunch of pretty bad for the level they are racing at riders on real good bikes, then their privateers... i was pretty dissapointed. Thats what makes some other domestic series better than in the states, Privateers have a chance every now and then to do something that really stands out Cool Hand Luke -=87=- "Guy Leach" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:H8Bj9.10016$[email hidden]...

I think it will take him awhile to get comfortable on the World Circuit. All the tracks will be new...all the cities etc will be new...and those chicanes...I think Japan alone has more chicanes than all of America....(even South America) {suddenly remembering why he didn't like sbk 2001} [actually I did like sbk 2001--I just fell over a-lot at those damned chicanes] <did I mention I hate chicanes?> dave henrie
