Total Immersion Racing revealed as World Sports Cars successor

Steve Smith posted screenshots of Empire's Total Immersion Racing, seen as what became of the West brothers' World Sports Cars. Readers found it arcade-like and lacking a cockpit view, though Razorworks' flight-sim pedigree was noted. Doug Ellison said it was new code, and Dave Henrie concluded it reused WSC's licensed cars and tracks.

The team programming it (Razorworks) did an *excellent* job of their two efforts in the flight sim field (Apache-Havoc and the sequel Commanche- Hokum). Those sims aren't seriously hardcore, but the flight models are great and Razorworks showed a lot of talent as a game designing team... in fact it was a real disappointment when we discovered they were working on the console version of WSC next. I have my fingers crossed for TIR. If reviews on RAS are good enough, and my Momo will work with an X-box, I might even pick one up. 200ukp for one game seems a bit excessive, but it might soften up my wallet in preparation for the financial pain of RL :o) Andrew McP PS Even if you're not a big flight sim fan it's worth taking a look at the CH demo at http://www.3dgamers.com/games/eecomanchehokum/
Ive seen some vids of this sim in action. It really does look bad, especially the bit where the car slides coming out of a turn. I think empire kept tomy's nice gfx but dumbed down chris' physics engine to somewhere near ridge racer levels. dan "Steve Smith" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:E3Lk9.38865$[email hidden]... > Anybody wants to see what happened to the Wests' World Sports Cars: > > http://www.3dgamers.com/screenshots/games/totalimmracing/ > >

The CODE is new...but the CARs/Tracks licenses are from WSC. These are the cars you WOULD have seen if WSC made it out the door. Basically, I think, they scavenged what they could from WSC, meaning the licensed cars and tracks that already had contracts signed, and dumped them into another generic sim engine. dave henrie
Well dog my cats -- they done sold their pretty cars and tracks to the junkman... BTW, Steve, I was staying up on Keuka lake for a week last month (or was it a month last week?), and only grace and modesty prevented me from tracking down your phone number and parking my wide berth on your doorstep for a beer. God, I miss Upstate New York! Bart Brown Steve Smith wrote: > > Anybody wants to see what happened to the Wests' World Sports Cars: > > http://www.3dgamers.com/screenshots/games/totalimmracing/

I looked back at the various WSC screen shots &WSC movies and noted which cars were the early demo cars. Then I looked at TIR screenshots and saw basically the same cars. So I put two and two together. Knowledge implies I actually KNOW what I'm talking about :) dave henrie

So-reeee, Dave! Next time I'll be more circumspect with my Kudos (cf. Proj. Goth. Rac.). "Dave Henrie" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:s8il9.624058$UU1.108349@sccrnsc03...
