N2k2 Christian racing League looking for drivers

Christian NR2002 league recruitment sparks religion debate

Earl advertised the Soli Rock Christian racing league for NR2002, seeking drivers. A dismissive remark and Goy Larsen's joke about religious wackos led to debate, with EldredP, an atheist, defending the league's right to exist and others arguing about faith versus fact. The founder said the league was open to all who avoided flaming.

Soli Rock Racing League is looking for 10 - 15 drivers. Sat nights open setup 40% length Constant, RANDOM weather(weather settings are sent in the race notes each week) Dedicated T1 Server We enjoy minimal yellows, that bring in pit strategy, tire wear, etc, As you know, this really opens the field for some great sim racing SRRL was founded by Christians for everyone. With a small roster, we enjoy freedom from many league rules, and mainly let the game itself police the racing. We have prerace chat and fellowship, followed by a group prayer b4 heading to the track. The prerace fellowship is not mandatory, but we do like as many of our drivers as possible to join us. If your interested, drop by our website and fill out the sign up form. http://solidrockracing.tripod.com/ thanx for reading this winded post, lol, cya on the track

hmm not sure what constitutes being dubbed a "wacko" But I am not religous I am however a believer in Christ, dose this make me better,NO, actually in my mind worse by secular standards, I can not manage, live, and cope with life without Jesus. You on the other hand appear to be OK without Him. I force my beliefs on nobody, and only share them when asked. ANd I cant speak for your "wacko's",lol, but there are Christians everywhere. And like any breathing human, they like me, make blunders, say stupid things, wrong decisions etc. I race and have raced with people whoi do not share my beliefs for years, and have to say none of them, and I did say years right, hehe, have never branded me a wacko, well till you. Fair enough, I deserved that, Eldred ; ) I just don't see any connection between sim racing and religion. I feel sorry for people who can't even participate in sport without dragging their personal spiritual beliefs into it.

How is a Christian racing league any different than a US racing league or a Senior's racing league, etc. etc.? Just a chance for people to do something with similar people. And I'd say the odds are you're less likely to get called every word in existence that is censored in N2002 after a crash in a Christian league. ;) BTW, for what it's worth, I am Christian, but unable to participate in a league on Saturdays - bowling in the evening, GPL league in the afternoon. :) ----------------------------------------- Dan Belcher Webmaster, http://simcrash.fameflame.dk
Well alot of interesting comments about this and I can say I race in this league and Founded the league and do believe that it was directed by God. You can say what you want call us what you want. Wacko, goof, whatever you like. It wont change a thing. We race, have fellowship with other believers, and have non believers like yourself in the league. Maybe we should send John Simmons there for some 'instructions.' The Christian aspect is no different than any other league of RAcarians or seniors or SuperSpeedway adicts. They are just another group of racers. I suspect the reaction some of us have shown here today is one of slight and I do mean slight paranoia of religion invading our personal space. Well, like your friend Shawn you obviously took my attempt at a friendly cheap shot as something else, but that's all it was, if you guys want to have a league with people who believe in Christian values and the good book or something like that, why on earth would I object to that even if I happen to disagree on theological matters As far as I know this NG is open to anyone interested in sim racing, even religious sim racers :-), but honestly, you knew that topic would attract comments right ? :-) Beers and cheers (uncle) Goy "The Pits" http://www.theuspits.com/ "A man is only as old as the woman he feels" --Groucho Marx--

Yeah, exactly. The stock answer you'll get is that it's a "fact" because the Bible says it is...
> like. It wont change a thing. We race, have fellowship with otherbelievers, > and have non believers like yourself in the league. What you say or think Then it is NOT truely a Christian Racing League? not with the inclusion of "non-believers" and if not why include that falsehood in the original post?

There's not anything wrong with it, but to us Europeans to couple the American notion of "Christian" onto just about everything just seems kinda wacko (not to mention ever so slightly propagandist. <Sarcasm mode ON> Hey, we should know, we developed this particular religion, at the mere cost of a few hundreds of thousands of lives, mostly Christians btw, before we exported it to America where the true believers all got to carry guns - whoopee) <Mode OFF>. But anyway, to get back to my original point - sounds kinda like the Buddhist Yodeling Club or the Hindu Postage Stamp Lickers, catch my drift? Regards, Rudy

Well I didn't see any driving credentials, lol,. But I think I mentioned it was a racing league open to all, c'mon in. I did see a post earlier about trying to limit the drivers that when wrecked Flame, and in doing so, inflict their anger on the rest of the field. Yes, we do remove flamers(lol, that may be said wrong) from the league, but we have been blessed in this area, and get guys that really just want to race with some good people. No, don't read into good people, Christians aren't good, we're bad and know it, hence the relationship with Jesus. Now how did this get into a theological debate, dad gum it,hehe, I am just trying to get about 10 more guys for a small league, and Praise God, the response has been GREAT! So thanx to the racers that signed up, really looking forward to seeing you on the track, and apologies to anyone this post offended, however, I do not apologize for my faith in Jesus. cya on the track Scott Earl "StP" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > Earl I am interested in joining your league Please checkout my website > for my driving credentials at http://www.atheists.com/ Thanks Steve
