Its my belieft that EA will ruin the NASCAR multiplayer racing on the PC. Yes they might get the physics to be decent using the F1-2002 engine, but the relity is that many of us buy games like NR2002S only to play online, against 30 others, not as a single player game. EA has shown poor multiplayer support in F12001 and F1-2002. You can't play 8 players at the same time on a decent host, forget about 30! I don't think they even have interest in providing better multiplayer code. Unfortunately Papyrus/Sierra doesn't have the cash to fight EA for the NASCAR franchise. All we can hope is that Papyrus decides to build the ultimate NASCAR game with all the goodies we have been asking for, yes maybe the game won't run on a machine less that a 2GHz PC with a Geforce 4 or Radeon 9700 video card, but it will be the pinacle of NASCAR multiplayer simulation and will be a game users will play for 5 years, since I doubt very much EA will offer a multiplayer game of comparison. Thanks for the rant
If we can get a great game from PAPY, than we can improve the game with painted carsets, improved tracks, shapes, etc. for the years to come, I just hope they dont give us that same lame physics engine again. ie, Raising the car and it goes faster.. If they would fix the darn drafting and damage model I would be happy. Heck throw in TRUE dedicated server (Without any graphics) and not make everyone log in through WON.NET's crappy online system just to join a WON.NET ranked race. What do you expect a pc game that is 100% flawless and perfectly modeled in every single way?? You can only get so much done with limited time and/or personel. Name one other company that has done so much for sim racing? You can't. Name another company that has a physics engine that is better than Papy's "lame" one? You can't. I am more than happy with what we have considering the alternatives. -- Darrin Stevens www.Stevens-Racing.com "Don Wilshe" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:aj_q9.132759$[email hidden]... > If we can get a great game from PAPY, than we can improve the game with > painted carsets, improved tracks, shapes, etc. for the years to come, I just > hope they dont give us that same lame physics engine again. ie, Raising > the > car and it goes faster.. EA is a master of economic models not physic models. Cheating AI's, poor multiplayer unless its carries a monthly fee :), no manuals. Any company that would kill Skunkworks (Jane sims) is a f.... disgrace. Now they are going to kill Race sims as well. Consumer have made them the number one pc entertainment publisher.... I guess we get what we deserve. "Targanon" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

They sell more than 3 times as many console games as PC games. So while we get to reap the "benefit" of their success, it wasn't "us" that created it. Tho, to be truthful: I DO plan on buying NT2003 for the PC. I'm also getting NR2003 from Papy and have bought EVERY Nascar from Papy except the Busch Expansion pack! Strictly speaking, ISI's physics engine is undeniably better. You can point to problems with the tracks, with the multiplayer, even with the physics *data*, but none of that is relevant to the question you asked. The ISI physics *engine* is the best one out there. To prove it all you have to do is play a game that makes good use of it, like the FIA mod.
