i just saw one of thes at the stores this afternoon and wondered if anyone has
bought one and can refer me to some reviews.

they look and feel really good. and the price is good too, about 1/2 that of
the other momo, so i assume its just an upgraded LWFF gp.
what i liked from my brief look was the shifter, the rubber wheel, and the
pedals felt firmer. but i was wondering how it drives.
was the pedals the same ( just firmer) as the "old" momo ?

the didn't have any on display, just one in a box. i don't know what the momo
pedals are like.
Pedals are completely different...look a lot like the MS pedals now. I too
want to know how it feels/drives as the old MOMO's are on sale in
anticipation of the new one.

I have one of those, but seeing as it's the first wheel I've ever
owned, I don't think I could make a good comparison. It works OK, I
think it's worth the money. Never having used force feedback before,
I have gotten used to it really fast and it's great- I think it's gear
and not pulley based. My only gripe is the software, the programming
utility doesn't automaticly load profiles, I have to manually set them
as the default. Maybe it's a Windows XP problem.

Maybe it's a Windows XP problem.I think it has _potential_, but I need to see one in person to check out the
pedals, Logitech's long-time weak spot (including the expensive Momo).
I heard a rumor that this one has optical pots, but I've been unable to
verify this.

I heard that, too, which is great...but it's the quality of the rest of the
internals that will count for the most. Pedal base looks small and cheap
and light, especially as compared to original MOMO or the new TM Ferrari.

CompUSA for 99 dollars. Good deal because Best Buy wanted the same
price for the Logitech Formula Force GP. I wanted the stick shifter
and the Momo just feels more solid.

Got my new Momo force at weekend ... had up to then a TM Force wheel,
must say I love it ... real smooth ... though it has no bearings I
still reckon its great value for money ... My lap times in GPL and
N2002 have already improved so I'm stoked ... seem to have more
control and feel ...
Happy Racing :)

Probably this reply is a bit late for anybody to see it, but just in
case anyone is still monitoring this thread, there is confirmation that
the wheel uses an optical sensor in a post at the Wingman Team
discussion board at http://www.wingmanteam.com/discus/, in the General
Discussion section. That is also a good place to go for any other
questions you have about the wheel. The development team monitors and
actively participates in the board, and I have always found them to be
very helpful and friendly.
