I bought Sports Car GT (PC) for 5 bucks. I tried messing with the
"speed sensitive" setting, and the only thing it did was make the cars
twitchy and the force feedback effects became overwhelming and in many
cases I ended up driving into the wall. It didn't seem particularly
"realistic". The advanced editor also lets you get rid of the
ultra-grabby grass, which is good, and with the realistic tires it's
much more challenging (although the AI seems to crash more often).
I wish I could get antialiasing to work with this game, but I just
have a Radeon 9700, so it's a no go.
On the whole it's better than Gran Turismo 3. The graphics may be
simpler but they are less pixelated and the AI cars don't drive like
they are lobotomized and ram you all the time- it always ticks me off
when they ram you on a turn and make you spin out. The only downside
I think is that I can't really change the race conditions enough for
the career races. It would be good to be able to change the fuel/tire
wear rate, number of laps, etc. If you don't want to spend 40+
minutes driving, well, I don't see a way to get pit strategy into the
game, because it seems I can run a whole short race with no stops for
gas. If you crash too, it pretty much sucks because the race is for
all purposes over- even if you pit to repair it, there's not enough
time to catch up.
For one there is a gas/wear multiplier int the race options, this will
enable some pit stops, also antialiasing works fine with this game, the game
is a lot of fun but a bitch to patch and insert add on files.
BTW the option screen is an aut hide feature at the bottom of the screen
start with that

certainly before you post here and look a bit silly
and most decent racers can crash and catch up...its called.....practice.

I disagree about the patches and adding files...once you get ban scene and the
plus patch you are set....

It is for win2000, the last patch is 1.551 with or without vis damage.

don't remember the details...believe it has ban scene, vis dam and other
stuff...look at Racesim Central for further info...I am still using the
original patches on win2k pro and it works just fine for me...good luck...

In career mode? I don't see this option.

It's 16 bit color, the Radeon 9700 doesn't support 16-bit
antialiasing. One of those little things that sucks- even the Radeon
8500 could do this no sweat. IF ATI doesn't fix this (and a few other
driver problems), I'm going to buy NVidia next time. Rumor has it
that the next NVidia card will finally support n-patches and dynamic
tesselation, so all the better.

I can't figure out how to add cars I download off the net. I put
them in the patch folder, but nothing happens? Also, how do you race
against these downloaded cars.

I have a gf3 ti200 & can't run fsaa...the framerate hit is huge.
to run the cars you have to make sure that thecars match the available
categories. A touring car or other unique cars won't show up in the menus.
You can use vedit to alter the category to one your game supports or you can
dload custom .exe files that include the car types you are trying to run.
Also you need to enable two cheats. on any career screen, type each of
the following.
first type isi-cheeseman
You should see abox near the upper right that says: cheat mod enabled
then type isi-tbone
&
isi-aardvark this will unlock all the cars and tracks & give you alot of
cash.
then buy the new car and you can then use it for either career or quikraces.
dave henrie
In addition to the cheats you may have to use wordpad or notepad to edit the
.veh file to one of the classes available to you...ie GT1, GT2 etc...up near
the top of the file...(depending on what .exe's etc you have patched in..)..
