Re: crash to desktop on some new GPLEA cars w/16bit textures: It has been suggested that this can be prevented by changing driver's arms to 4 bit. Does anyone know(1) how to find or identify 4 bit textures for arms,(2) how to install them? A forum search failed to find anything. Thanx, Sam

I assume replacing the arms involves renaming them to match the arms in the GPLEA releases and copying them into the respective car folders, but as to where to find them... not a clue (also searched extensively). Are we missing something like www.4bitarms.com ?? Jan. =---
Have you tried the GPLAIM utility? You can find Eguzo's 4bit arms here: http://eguzo.m4driving.sm/ -- don ------------------------------------- BAPOM Alternative Program Covers for GPL http://www.trilon.com/bapom/ "Jan Verschueren" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:wBgz9.12726$[email hidden]... > "Samuel Senior" wrote... > > Re: crash to desktop on some new GPLEA cars w/16bit > > textures: It has been suggested that this can be > > prevented by changing driver's arms to 4 bit. No, each time I went to install a new GPLEA release I was reminded I'd forgotten to install this utility, but thought "oh well, I'll do this one by hand and install GPLAIM later".<g> Guess I'll have to now, if I don't want a lot of fiddlin' about. > You can find Eguzo's 4bit arms here: > http://eguzo.m4driving.sm/ Thanks Don. Since I intstalled them with these, no problems at all. John

Do you use 4-bit arms? -If so, can you send me the files or put them up for download? Finding them is hopeless... been at it all afternoon. Jan. =---
Scroll down the page to "new 4bit arms/hands for Ferrari"v2 Quote from the page: "I made alternate arms and hands this time. Hands are made from thicker and more glossy leather compared with original papyrus one and choice from 10 colors.(default "black") Arms have more random folds so that they look slightly relaxed impression hopefully. Avaiable in 2 colors .(Default "white") I named these files exceptionally for ferrari but if you rename properly these should work with any car in GPL. Hallo, I'm the author of the "Farewell to Arms" post. FWIW, I found the 4 bit arms on the suggested site and installed without incident. However, a CSM installation solution earlier caused me problems so I did away with it. Too confusing for a computerklutz anyway. I guess I'll live with the cars I've got. Just make a directory for putting the CSM cars in, set your GPL folder then load up the car in the application and set which bits you want like 3D helmets, 2D wheels etc. It's really easy honest.
