I'm running the 6228 DX9 drivers with the beta DX9 now. They seem fine,
I'll have to try the DX9 demos tomorrow, they are supposed to be amazing.

FWIW, I tried the new drivers for my Radeon 8500LE. I didn't see any frame rate
increase in NR2002 or anywhere else (using Open GL), and it corrupted the track
surface when in single race mode (but not in Testing Session).
In addition, overall 3DMark score dropped from 8393 to 8252 on my system. So, I
went back to the old drivers.
As always, YMMV.

In my case, also running an 8500LE I didn't see any improvement in
DirectX, but OpenGL seemed to behave better. The initial rate didn't
change much, but there was less of a decline in accidents and with
damaged cars on the track.
Outside of the game, the overall behavior of the new driver is quite
good. It seems stable, and other images are crisper.
