Hi folks, welcome to a new RAS contest: the TOFU RACE! Below you'll find the current standings, to be updated on a weekly basis. I might even set up a TofuRank, judging by the huge success that GPLRank has been ;-) Enjoy uwe ###################################################################### TOP TOFUS of rec.autos.simulators Analyzed 1152 articles posted up to 2002-11-22 (7 days total). The first column shows the total kilobytes of quoted text found in posts by the author (last column). The second column contains the "noise index", which I define as the ratio of genuine new material to old, quoted text found in the postings. The third column contains the total number of articles posted by the author. The fourth column shows us the percentage of new material to stuff that was simply quoted from older messages. To improve your spot in the rankings or ideally, get out the top 10 altogether, please consult the following URL: <a href="http://www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.html"> http://www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.htm</a> your fellow netizens will be most grateful for it. ;-) ###################################################################### SORTED BY KILOBYTES QUOTED 67.51 0.0142 10 0.97% Mike Grandy 42.24 0.2823 84 21.92% Larry 36.37 0.0804 8 5.79% Don Wilshe 32.99 0.0534 18 4.96% jon 21.50 0.1855 24 14.32% Schooner 18.60 0.1816 30 17.69% BRH 16.83 0.3888 44 32.76% John Pancoast 16.79 0.5953 66 41.29% Dave Henrie 15.40 0.2488 24 17.72% Dunk This weeks winner: MIKE GRANDY ###################################################################### -- mail replies to Uwe at schuerkamp dot de ( yahoo address is spambox) Uwe Schuerkamp //////////////////////////// http://www.schuerkamp.de/ Herford, Germany \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ (52.0N/8.5E) GPG Fingerprint: 2E 13 20 22 9A 3F 63 7F 67 6F E9 B1 A8 36 A4 61

I've been thinking of adding another scoring method to the script if at least you don't top-post, but that's not as easy to implements as it sounds. Maybe the script could just check if the last three lines of postings contain ">" or other quoting chars at the beginning for that's a sure sign of top posting, but then there's sigs and stuff... heavy hacking ;-) Cheers, uwe -- mail replies to Uwe at schuerkamp dot de ( yahoo address is spambox) Uwe Schuerkamp //////////////////////////// http://www.schuerkamp.de/ Herford, Germany \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ (52.0N/8.5E) GPG Fingerprint: 2E 13 20 22 9A 3F 63 7F 67 6F E9 B1 A8 36 A4 61
