Cracks me up, the last line in the readme.......anyway, some questions: 1 MOMO wheel is working ok, except that it is jiggling away all the time, as if I had a wheel off in the rough stuff (Like that ever happens!) I've tried a few different FF settings and strengths, any ideas welcome. 2 How do you check framerate in this thing? It seems OK while I'm driving, but if I spin the car and see smoke, the slideshow starts, which makes me think the fps may be on the low side. 3 Offline is cool, but online is where it's at, but my only attempt so far was a warp-fest, how do I check ping and quality? Can I expect to race this online? Thanks, Ed

Frame rate = CNTRL-F Just like in the original F1-2002 game.. Ed White wrote:

The only way I've managed to have good online races in F1 2002 was by having a passworded game with selectively chosen people with good connections. Open servers aren't good - it only takes one 56Ker from some dodgy country to join to turn the game into a warp-fest.

Choosing high doesn't increase the strength of the FF effects, just piles more on. > 2 How do you check framerate in this thing? It takes a second or two to be displayed. > 3 Offline is cool, but online is where it's at, but my only attempt so far > was a warp-fest, how do I check ping and quality? Can I expect to racethis > online? Pick a low ping, set your connection to 56k--Yes 56k EVEN if you have broadband. This will reduce the amount of data the server has to flood your way. Next each session depends on the host..but after 5 driver you are really pushing things unless it's a great server line. Make sure...INSIST that EVERYONE EVEN THE HOST use 56k for a connection speed. and if it's still jerky..find another race with fewer drivers. RSDG has been running a huge server for it's Alfa mod...they have had good sucess with 8 to 16 drivers..but that is a rare bird with the EA sims. dave henrie > Thanks, Ed > >

A friend showed me a video of CS with 'All your base are belongto > us' but I've got no idea what it's really all about. From the Jargon file (http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/jargon/) all your base are belong to us A declaration of victory or superiority. The phrase stems from a 1991 adaptation of Toaplan's "Zero Wing" shoot-'em-up arcade game for the Sega Genesis game console. A brief introduction was added to the opening screen, and it has what many consider to be the worst Japanese-to-English translation in video game history. The introduction shows the bridge of a starship in chaos as a Borg-like figure named CATS materializes and says, "How are you gentlemen!! All your base are belong to us." [sic] In 2001, this amusing mistranslation spread virally through the internet, bringing with it a slew of JPEGs and a movie of hacked photographs, each showing a street sign, store front, package label, etc. hacked to read "All your base are belong to us" or one of the other many supremely dopey lines from the game (such as "Somebody set us up the bomb!!!" or "What happen?"). When these phrases are used properly, the overall effect is both screamingly funny and somewhat chilling, reminiscent of the B movie "They Live". The original has been generalized to "All your X are belong to us", where X is filled in to connote a sinister takeover of some sort. Thus, "When Joe signed up for his new job at Yoyodyne, he had to sign a draconian NDA. It basically said, `All your code are belong to us.'" Has many of the connotations of "Resistance is futile; you will be assimilated" (see Borg). Considered silly, and most likely to be used by the type of person that finds Jeff K. hilarious.
