Here's some improved cockpit views for this mod. The driver position is much closer to the wheel giving a more realistic view of the road. The views are similar to what you get in 'Live For Speed' and are much more 'drivable' IMO. However, the catch is that you need to use glance to look at the mirrors in most of the cars. A small glance angle of around 10 degrees works really well but this mod (of a mod) may not be for everybody... The 'TV Cockpit' view has also been replaced with a more useful hood view for those that crave even more road visibility. The glitch where skid marks appear in front of the cars has also been corrected. : ) http://www.users.bigpond.com/dtsmith77/EnhancedCockpitViews.zip Just unzip to your F1 2002 folder with folder names. A fair bit of time went into making these so....enjoy. Cheers Damien
Damien - Would it be too much to ask for you to put up some screenshots somewhere? I've manually adjusted the 996 and Marcos, but I'd be interested to see what you've done. - Dave "Damien Smith" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:SjkJ9.466$[email hidden]...

How about the mirrors? I'd really like to keep them visible while racing... -- - Igor -

No, that's just David Coulthard... Nick.

Hey Damien, Thanks Bro! I spend most of my time hot-lapping and your new cockpit view is just what the Doctor ordered!! I backed up the original folders so I can quickly switch when I'm ready for some bumber to bumber mahem!! I may not even switch come to think of it.....It's a known fact that looking behind you will slow you down...... Kudos SpeedRat

A bit like the three most unimportant figures in aviation: * Space above you * Runway behind you * Amount of fuel back home at the airfield...

Thanks, I've had a lot of positive feedback from these. Here's a file which restores the default views quickly... http://www.users.bigpond.com/dtsmith77/RestoreDefaultViews.zip Cheers Damien

Gumball Rally with no point-2-point tracks? That might be fun... <g> . . . . . . (ok, I know there have been p2p tracks in the NFS series...) -- - Igor -

The Gumball has been transformed slightly. It's now called something similar to: One Lap of America. It's run by Brock Yates of Road & Track magazin(or Car & Driver I can NEVER keep those two straight) What they do now is drive legally from point A to point B which is a racetrack. THEN they run timed sessions and the fastest cars get points of some sort. Next a nice stay at a Hotel and then drive to Point C. Another Track, another timed race. etc etc I forget how long it is now but 1500 miles is probably on the low side. dave henrie

Speaking of the original coast-coast Rally - has anyone read Brock Yates' new book on the Cannonball? I read about it in car mag, and was thinking of giving it as a Xmas gift - unless it sucks ;). Kendt
