Okay that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but I just loaded up XP Pro
yesterday and now I am having one hell of a time getting my games to work
again. Biggest problem right now is the 60 hz refresh garbage. I had it
fixed with the default drivers, but they apparently don't do OpenGL
properly. At least Half-Life didn't believe they did, although Quake 3 had
no problem. So I went and grabbed the latest XP drivers from nVidia's site
(41.09) and now I can't get the refresh rate to stick anymore. The drivers
come with a way to set it but that doesn't work, and now even Riva Tuner
doesn't seem to fix it. Anybody know how to change the refresh rate with
the 41.09 drivers?

games now seem to be finding the 75 hz rate (max my old monitor supports at
1024x768) but older games like Half-Life and Quake 3 still insist on running
at 60 hz. Any ideas?

Are you 100% sure you havent got vertical sync on in the graphics properties
(Set Vertical Sync to "always off")
All the best,
Ash
http://www.siroccoracing.com
It's not a vertical sync problem, the frame rate still runs at whatever it
wants to. But the refresh rate is running at 60 hz, which makes for a
noticeable flicker.
(hopefully this post will now have my "real" name - still getting everything
sorted out under XP :o)

This should work: http://www.pagehosting.co.uk/rf/
E.
At first it seemed to be only OpenGL games, but I just tried NR2002 in
OpenGL mode and it is able to do 75 hz. So the problem seems to be only
with OpenGL games that were written prior to XP's release. Anyway I have
several good leads in this post, now it is just a matter of finding the time
to try them all. Thanks everybody!

Well ReForce did the trick, even in the older OpenGL games. Thanks Fester!

You're welcome. :-) Worked well for me.

Refresh-Force is the most reliable 60hz fixer out there.
