Okay guys I need help again. GPL under XP seems to be going to hell on me
in a big hurry. It seemed fine a few days ago, but today I had frame rate
stuttering even with the detail slider turned down and when I tried to look
at a lap replay I could only see the last 8 laps. When I tried to go to
previous laps there was a red oval with an arrow drawn in the upper left
corner of the replay window and it refused to go back any farther. What
could be causing this?
I'm running GPL fine under XP, except for some stuttering which I seem to
get when MS Messenger is running in the background. You might want to check
that out. It runs automagically every time one uses Outlook Express.
Re: the replay problem, increase the amount of replay memory in the core.ini

Add this to core.ini :
[ Replay ]
replayMemoryOverride = 32768 ; Amount of memory for the
replay buffer (KB).
;
32000K will do about a full race; make sure
;
you've got enough memory in your system.
;
Default = 2000

Add this to core.ini somewhere near the bottom, with the amount for
replay memory as you prefer.

Yes and yes. The Server replay records all connected cars. The number of
cars you see (and are recorded in the replay) is not affected by the memory
override, only the length of the replay. iirc turning off smoke detail (and
probably other eye candy) makes replay files alot smaller, but I've never
tried it.
