Hello,
I installed the german version of GPL today and then wanted to apply the
1.2-patch.
But the install of the patch stops with the following error:
Cant create output file: C:\Sierra\gpl\tracks\nurburg\track.ini .
Is that a known problem?
Thanks for any hint.
Have you installed any mods to the Ring? I don't know if this would have any
effect on installing the 1.2 patch but computers are strange and mysterious
things :-)
What you might try is backing up your current Ring folder and install a
fresh version from your CD, install the 1.2 patch and then reinstall your
current Ring folder.

Check the files it complains about aren't read-only. It was the cause of the
same problem when I installed GPL 1.2, many eons ago ;)

I havnt installed any addons so far as Don thought. It is a fresh
GPL-install not even launched one time. But Nathaniels hint was good.
Unchecked read-only on track.ini for every track and for some lp-files and
the driver.ini and I got it installed. Thanks for both replies.
Start your engines

That's great news! Enjoy.
And start downloading those mods!

Hi Stephan,
remove the write protection from the track.ini file, and all
should be fine. I think there are a couple of other files which
get installed write-protected too, but it's no biggie really.
good luck,
