Hi, I run my destop at 1024@60hz(monitor isn't capable of any better) and
want to run gpl at 800@72hz without having to manually configure it
everytime I play. Are there any utilities that can perform this function
for me? I can't use the latest detonator drivers cause they cause stutters
on my tnt2 so I need some 3rd party application I think...or any other
ideas? BTW I'm on XP
Thanks
probably better to post in a more appropriate newsgroup but....
Try reforce. Do a google search.Ithink its also available at www.guru3d.com
.Personally i use a refresh utility nVidia Refresh Rate Fix from
www.sheep-design.net .Currently with Det XP 30.82 with GF3

thx heaps just what I wanted:):
I agree.
RefreshForce, IMHO, is the best and most useable of the Refresh Rate fixers
out there. It works where many others fail because it actually access the
monitor and driver records in Windows PROPERLY.
However, you should make sure you have the correct Monitor driver installed
first. If your Monitor is just shown as a "Plug & Play Monitor", then it is
using the generic driver. Go to the manufacturers web site and get and
install the correct driver first.
If there is no driver, then at least make SURE you do not set the refresh
rate to a value higher than what the specs say the Monitor can support.
Doing so can cause serious damage to the Monitor, especially lower-cost
monitors.
I'm suprised that at 1024X768 the highest refresh rate yours can support is
60hz. Is this a really old Monitor?
What kind of monitor is it?

so maybe if I did it could go higher. In the settings it says it's capable
of doing 70hz@1024 but whenever I select that it isn't accepted when I click
apply. It's a LITEON monitor by the way, don't know if that's a cheapo
brand or not.

60Hz must play havoc with your eyes. You should really be aiming for
something like 85 (unless your monitor an LCD one) to be comfortable. I
can't even bear 75Hz for more than an hour before I get a headache. Do
yourself a favour and get a new one CRT's are very cheap these days and even
LCD's have come down to affordable levels. There are quite a few refresh
fixes for NVIDIA cards at www.guru3d.com.
