Why can my buddy only see 12 cars ahead when he connect to me for a race, I can see all 42. It was the same way in NR2002. It is just the 2 of us.
In MP mode you can't see all the cars ahead behind due to bandwidth limitations. If you are connecting across a LAN, there is a setting in the core.ini file to show all cars as bandwidth should not be an issue on a LAN. -- Biz "Don't touch that please, your primitive intellect wouldn't understand alloys and compositions and,......things with molecular structures,....and the....." - Ash "Morris Jones" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > Why can my buddy only see 12 cars ahead when he connect to me for a race, I > can see all 42. The # of cars ahead doesn't control it under MP? I never knew that :) Larry "Biz" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:0xv0a.23458$[email hidden]... > In MP mode you can't see all the cars ahead behind due to bandwidthlimitations. That's what I thought, but he's indicating that this doesn't control MP races. Larry "Zodiac" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

No, Papy sims at least as far back as I can remember, have limited the ahead/behind # of visible cars to reduce the demands on the bandwidth. Remember the user-made high-bandwidth patches for GPL? That, IIRC, was to increase the # of visible cars. dave henrie

In article <[email hidden]>, [email hidden] says... > Why can my buddy only see 12 cars ahead when he connect to me for a race, I > can see all 42. It was the same way in NR2002. Someone racing on the server machine (non-dedicated server) could see all 20 cars, but people connecting could only see 4 ahead and 2 behind.
