It is possible to buy now ATI Radeon 8500LE 128 DDR or 9000Pro 128 DDR for relatively the same price. Based on your experience, which one of the cards will perform better for F12002/GTR2002 and Colin McRae Rally (waiting for version 3)? My current system: Athlon XP 1600+ 512 MB 2100 DDR MB A7V266-E Windows XP with DX9 MB support AGP 4 so it is unreasonable to go higher than 9000. Thanks in advance, Igor

The R8500 seems to be a slightly quicker than the R9000, neither are DX9 cards and unlike the 9500/9700 cards, it's based on the same core as the R8500, guess it comes down to price, I've yet to see a comparison between the two while using FSAA and Aniso filtering though

A 9500 or 9700 card running at 4x AGP will be significantly faster than a R9000, so if you can afford the extra money, the R9500 PRO is a better buy, the R9000 is a DX8 card supposed to compete with the GF4MX cards, the jury is still out as far as 8x AGP is concerned and just how much extra speed it will buy you Beers and cheers (uncle) Goy "goyl at nettx dot no" http://www.theuspits.com "A man is only as old as the woman he feels........" --Groucho Marx--
