I kinda thought this worked in N1/2/99/3/4/2002 but figured I'd
mention it since I've seen posts about it. I just canceled repairs
after letting the team work on the car for about a minute or so since
the pace car was closing in and was able to dive back in the pits and
fix the remaining damage in about 10 seconds.
Jason
There has never been cumulative repairs in any Nascar Racing title though
I've been yelling for it for years.

No...
Cumulative repairs meaning each time you visit the pit, your crew is able to
improve the repair (or lessen the damage effects) at each stop thus
improving the car each time.
In Nascar Racing, your guys go to lunch after the first attempt, and what
you get is all you get. In such a realistic SIM, cumulative repairs would
have been a natural.

That's what I meant, and I thought Larry did as well. You can repair
a bit of the car, go back out, then come back in and repair the rest
or just a bit more. I kinda thought you could even do that in Nascar
1 but hadn't tried it in N4 or 2002.
Jason
I think you are talking about the _number_ of things getting repaired, not
the overall _quality_ of the repair.
In other words, if we were both to have the exact same accident, with the
exact same damage, and you did your repairs over two stops because you
stopped them half-way through the first time, but I did all mine on the
first stop, we would both in the end get the exact same level of repair when
it was all over.
What I'm talking about is any one damaged area being improved with
repetitive stops in the pits. That doesn't happen, and it's a shame. I
would not expect this to continue until the damage was totally gone, of
course, but it would be nice if each stop the crew was able to at least
improve the situation up to a certain level.
Just like the real guys.

One thing they could do in a patch that I suppose would be more
realistic, is make it take longer to repair damage. It's kinda
ridiculous that most repairable damage can be fixed in one yellow flag
pitstop. If severe damage required say 15 minutes of constant
repairing to get the car back to the level a fully repaired car would
be at instead of 2 minutes then you'd really have no choice but to sit
in the pits for 20 laps or keep repairing it little by little.

Unless you don't fully repair it on the first stop. =)
Jason
Yes, we've established that LOL!
