Multiplayer GPL hang on returning to pits

Anyone seen this before? When I join a game on VROC, everything seems ok, I go and do some practice laps, and then decide to go back to the pits to change something, and it crashes on switching screen modes. I get left with a black screen, an engine noise, and no way out except to reboot. I've got the latest video drivers for my GeForce2 MX, and I've patched to GPL v1.2. I'm using the DirectX driver, which works fine for single player games. I'd appreciate any ideas. -- Phil Powerful kerosene lamp b'long Jesus gone buggerup

Are you using OpenGL? If so, try D3D instead. Gerry

I had a similar prob while running Zonealarm with GPL, i could join a server and race for as long as i wanted, but as soon as i esc to return to the menu's i would get a black screen and my pc would need a hard reboot. I had to turn off zonealarm to race on vroc, hope this helps. Cheers Ginger

I had this problem too. It seems to be related to the VSMON.EXE (virus monitor) part of ZA. Gerry
