Is anyone using Netkar pro at this point? There doesn't seem to be much discussion about it. I did see a video recently of a league race using that sim that looked interesting. I've driven the demo a bit lately, and really like the sim. I'd like to get more into it and try some multiplayer - but I don't want to pay for it and then find that nobody is racing with it. NKPro is slowly maturing and the bugs being sorted. The biggest issue is fps in multiplayer. There is a group of drivers using it in league racing but the number of online drivers is minimal, so pickup races will be hard to find. Whilst waiting for the bugs to be fixed there is just so much other good stuff to run in rFactor, GTR2 and GT Legends that it is easy not to be bothered to see if NKPro has been improved. The driving experience is very good but I find whilst I recognise its technical achievement in driving feel the other aspects of immersion - the sound and general atmosphere somewhat lacking compared with the 79 F1 rFactor mod. Right now NKPro is parked in the "shows potential" category whilst I load up something else to get my sim racing fix. Having said that I don't regret its purchase, sim racing software is remarkedly good value and if my investment fails to come to anything then so be it. Like I said there is just too much other good stuff to occupy my time, but maybe one day... Cheers Tony

netKar PRO is superb in some aspects: physics, force feedback and graphics. However, I (and a lot of other people) don't like the way the developer handles his business (You have to wait eternally for patches and there is no communicaion). So, because of this and because I don't like open wheelers that much, I decided to left netKar behind till we get either tin tops or the dev-kit (to create tin tops). However, if you want to spend your time racing in a league, nK might be the best sim for you: There are some very involved people running the GPC league (gpchampionship.com). Jaap (the league's admin) is really putting his heart blood into this league and it must be one of the best sim-racing leagues. However, I don't want to/can't spend that much time on a league, so it's nothing for me but maybe it's just perfect for you. So go check it out!

same for me, too. I bought the title when it was released, goofed around with it for a while and it's still on the HD, but I haven't fired it up since the last patch. Cheers, uwe -- GPG Fingerprint: 2E 13 20 22 9A 3F 63 7F 67 6F E9 B1 A8 36 A4 61

Two new tracks, using the Dev-Kit (released to only a select few, though a public release was promised to occur six months after release of NKP), have been released. The first was Silverstone; and the second, most recently, is Monaco. The tracks are excellent. There is not much going on with NKP other than the league. I prefer informal pick-up races, rather than the commitment involved with a league. Sadly, though, there's not much activity going on with NKP outside of this league. For a while I tried to get pick-up races going but my attempt failed. I'd be willing to try again, so if anyone is interested send me an email. Setting up a server is easy (though limited), and I can keep one up mostly continuously. I am part of the beta team for NKP, who tested the last patch. We were scheduled to start on testing the next patch, but after some flurry the developer has again dropped from sight. Though NKP claims to be a community sim, communication between the developer and the people has been woefully absent. As far as NKP goes as a simulator, I must say that I like it. Maybe now that the holidays are over things will get rolling, though, again, the developer seems to observe more holidays than what is typically considered normal. The guy must just have a different concept of the meaning of communication. But, again, if anyone is interested in some pick-up races, drop me some mail ([email hidden]). My connection can handle 10 racers. More than that results in problems. Overall, the whole online situation with NKP needs some serious work. A lot of bug were quashed, but the issue of low fps online (usually happens at particular points on a track and nowhere else) is a serious issue. For a simulator that is pretty much online only, the 30% drop in fps across the board contradicts the game's whole raison d'etre. :) Alanb
