Australian rally champ Possum Bourne's condition has been downgraded
from critical to "serious but stable", although he is till in a coma
apparently.
For those that don't know, the 7 time Aust. Champ was involved in a
head-on driving a road car... this from his website:
"a convoy of competitors driving road cars were inspecting the road
under controlled conditions with official lead and a tail cars
monitoring speed. Possum was travelling down the road in a Subaru
Forester and was on the correct side of the road and wearing a seat belt
at the time"

He didn't say he was from Australia. He said he was the Australian Rally champ.

I didn't say he was from Australia. I said he was Australian rally
champion. Is this better? "Australian Rally" champ.

I remember some years back when someone on r.a.s.f1 objected to
Jacques Villeneuve being referred to as a "British American" racing
driver. As a Canadian, he was insulted by the perceived slight on his
country.
I always enjoyed watching Possum Bourne mixing it up with the WRC
regulars in NZ, Australia and Indonesia. I hope for a speedy and full
recovery.

In a sombre statement from Dunedin Hospital we learn that his Life Support
has been taken off tonight which I believe means barring miracles he'll die
within hours.
