Just got a new system and about 15 or 20min, into playing a multi-player race with a friend for the last couple nights, without any warning the computer just reboots. Everything will be running great then BAM, just reboots. My old computer never had this problem. I'll list the systems. Please let me know if you have any ideas. Running D3D @ 1600x1200x32,4AA, frame rate never goes below 33, 80-90 in the clear. All options except the last 3 shadow options, and Track highlights. NR2003 installed to the C: drive. Logitech Momo wheel. New System: Asus P4 C800 800mhz FSB P4 3.0 C 800 1gig dualddr 2x120gig Hard Drives ATI 9800Pro 3.2 drivers Audigy Platinum EX latest drivers I could find. Windows XP SP1 In a alienware type case, with 4 fans. Old System. Dell 8200 P4 2.53 1gig PC800 120gig HD, this got moved to the new system as the slave drive. replaced with new 80gig drive. Same ATI 9800Pro-- Installed the Ti4600 back in this one. Same Audigy 2 card, Windows XP SP1
Mine was doing that due to heat when I first got the game after it was released. I had to take the cover off the tower and that solved the problem. I have a house fan blow on it too to make sure it doesn't reboot. It hasn't rebooted once since. David G Fisher "mjones" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Sound like a heat issue, or possible memory issue. Try booting with safe non-optimized settings and see if the system doesn't reset. This oculd be a little bit of a tricky issue, double check all your case wiring, and making sure everything is connected and seated securely. [cut] Try the following test: Go to any replay, and cycle through the cameras. If the computer reboots when you move from the cockpit view to another one, then it's a sound problem. I had this problem (the computer would reboot during races or while leaving pit road) and I solved it by lowering the "Sound Hardware Acceleration" in DirectX. Greetings Folco
Just wondering what Alienware had to say about this problem. for the $$$ you paid for that new system it should run flawlessly. Good luck.. DC mjones <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...
