Been driving the LFS demo and I love it. Not very fast yet (best 1:39) but
I'd like to race online as I've seen posts here that say the netcode is
great. I've got broadband so I should have a low latency.
Can someone tell me where to find other racers online? Are there organised
meets or places where people congregate then race? I only really want to
race clean racers.

At the main screen you'll find a tab labelled Multiplayer. Just click on
it, then click on the tab that says display games. That's all there is
to finding people to race with. :)

The netcode is great. There's an in-game server browser under the cunningly
named 'multiplayer' option which is hidden in plain view in the main menu ;)
