Those IRL boys sure are clever.
"I was just behind Tony, and we were running together," Castroneves said.
"All of sudden, Tony went high. He was in a situation where he couldn't see
my hands. When he slowed down, my car hit his left-rear wheel. I noticed I
was upside down."
Wow, that's some great reactive driving there, Helio.

Nice troll. Herr Henrie would be proud! :-D

my work is done now....if I have corrupted just one person...then I have

year? I can kill two birds with one stone. Castroneves following a
corvette at indy. I also noticed that Penske wasn't so sure which chassis
was superior, he had one driver in a Dallara and one in a Geforce. Maybe
next year he can have Goodyears on the inside and Bridgestones on the
outside.

Simulated or real ???

I'm pretty sure neither of us have won the real thing, unlike Helio. ;-)
In reality, there's no way you (or any of us who weren't there) would
know the circumstances from a press release or news story. Crap
happens, even to the highly esteemed CART drivers. As such, it's pretty
silly to resort to the tired chest thumping and "CART rules" rhetoric.

I did, and it wasn't a Corvette. :-D
It was the SSR, GM's latest answer to a question not many people were
asking.

Roger's never been afraid to explore his options to find the best
combination. That's why he mothballed his CART chassis program to run
Reynards. The quest for the unfair advantage lives on. He ran 1-2 at
Indy, so his "indecision" seemed to work out well. ;-)

Ooh, oohh...what about a block with 3 Toyota cylinders, 3 Honda
cylinders, and 2 Chevy cylinders? :-p

him as a creative race strategist. Ya know, in a very stretched out way,
Penske has already done that, they have a Toyota Block which was assembled
by Illmor which used race at Indy with the Chevy badge and now they build
Daimler Chrysler/Mercedes blocks for F1. hmmmmmmm
My apologies for messin' up the vette pacecar, I saw a-bit of the pre-
race parade and all the drivers were in 50th Anniversary Vettes. So I
assumed it was also the pace car...mybad...still I'm sure I can spin this
somehow to demean the track owner and GM. hehehee.

CART doesn't rule, it just turns left and right unlike Junior's store-

I'm not 100% sure how Penske handles his engines. AFAIK, TRD designed
and built their engine in-house, while Honda went out of character and
made their engine a joint-effort between HPD and Ilmor.
I don't know where Penske's engines are maintained, if it's TRD or done
in-house like the Cossie DFX's and Chevy's were. (Penske was the only
team allowed by GM/Ilmor to open their Chevy CART engines.)

I wish they used a Vette again this year. The SSR looks like the bean
counters saw the "hot rod" nose kit for S10's, and thought "hey, we need
to build those..." At least the Aztek can get a prom date now...LOL ;-)

Correction: Depending on semantics, one could argue Jim Hall had the
same privileges since Franz Weis and the VDS engine shop (which now
service/rebuild Chevy IRL engines) were closely linked.

I'm trying to think backnow, but VDS was definitely an authorized
rebuilder. I assume Ilmor themselves handled the rest, and then the
Penske team serviced their own engines. I don't remember any other
shops, but perhaps Steve or someone can clue us in.
It was much more tightly controlled than the IRL program, which has a
half-dozen or so shops authorized to sell/service engines.

Whoa there, buddy. It's a quote. I don't know if it's a language thing or
what, it just sounded damn funny in a "I was driving along and there was
this guy in front of me, he braked and then I noticed I was dead" kinda way.
I don't care if it happened in the gIRLy races or in CART, it's still funny.

I agree, I thought it funny too at first glance, just not enough to
justify an IRL jab. It's hard to pick on either group these days, as in
principle, CART's turned into the early-era Spec IRL, albeit maintaining
a diverse schedule, and IRL's morphed into the big bucks series with
heavy Japanese influence. :-)

Exactly, it's an awkwardly-worded quip, but no point for adding
political connotations.

Mark Donohue wrote a little about that inhis autobiography. Apparently
when the engine had a few miles on it, everything seated a little
better, and then you put a new head on it and suddenly you got a small
HP bump. He did that on a few races, when he thought he needed more
power (which, for Mark, was ALWAYS). :-)
I'd say that the Captain can say with certainty that the chasis is irrelevant
this year...1-2 finish and it could have gone either way.
I don't think you'd sink to quite those depths though to troll. :) Not yet
anyhow... :)
