Hell's bells and leaping lizards! I visited the GPL Track Database site last night and, right at the top of the "New" category is a German real-life circuit. Hmmmm, this looks interesting - and it's a longish track on obviously public roads - just my cup of tea. So I click on "Screenshots" and - hey, what're these two cars?!! A Lotus and Ferrari of latter years of the 1.5 litre era! Well, I'll be buggered....someone has actually created these things for GPL AT LAST!! I can't believe it. (Probably ancient history to you all, I know.) Now - from where are they available? (Scratches head and ponders). Then I open up Favourites and click on the GPLEA link - if anyone knows where these things are, they will. I couldn't believe my eyes - there, at the top of the News section, was reference to the project and link to a site where a promo AVI could be sourced. Which I did - sourced it, that is! :) Very nice promo for what - I hope - will be a very nice mod for GPL. One question to anyone who might know: are the developers including AI or is this mod strictly for on-line racing? Bruce.

The same group are planning several seasons of which '65 is one, so they are probably the cars you saw. As I understand it not only will the cars look different, the physics (amount of grip, power curves etc) will also be tweaked to suit the season, something never previously achieved with gpl to my knowledge. None of the seasons will be post '67 though, since gpl doesn't model downforce. hth, Malc.
Thanks, Malc. I've wandered over there and had a browse. Couldn't see anything about AI one way or the other, but a lot of interesting information. Interesting that they are also planning a 1950's mod - now THAT is right up my alley too! :) Regards, Bruce.
I downloaded the AVI, but can't seem to run it with Windows Media. What program will run this correctly?? Thanks, Bob "Bruce Kennewell" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:3ee1348f$[email hidden]... > Hell's bells and leaping lizards! > I visited the GPL Track Database site last night and, right at the top of > the "New" category is a German real-life circuit. > Hmmmm, this looks interesting - and it's a longish track on obviouslypublic > roads - just my cup of tea. > > So I click on "Screenshots" and - hey, what're these two cars?!! wasson....all players will play it you are barking up the wrong tree. if something doesnt play it isnt the player it is the codec(or lack of) always wise to be updated on DivX codec but there are others used. AD
