Cross-posted Segway troll post mocked

A cross-posted anti-Segway rant reached the group. Some replied seriously about obesity and legislation, but most recognised it as a random-text troll and responded with jokes, including the 'It's no GPL' meme.

How about hot dogs, candy, pizza, and super-sized fast food meals? Do you honestly believe that a gravitationally challenged individual will gain weight by leaving the Lazy-Boy and taking the Segway to McDonalds instead of their car? Personally, I'd rather see them go on the Segway. Less pollution, traffic, and parking problems. >In addition, it will create hazards and annoyances on our sidewalks. Even if >we >restrict it to streets (assuming such rules could be enforced), it will slow >traffic >and cause hazards there as well. > Maybe bicycles should be outlawed too then, or removed from the sidewalks. We're all soooo familiar with what a nuisance those things are, aren't we? Roller blades too. And skateboards. Heck, why stop there? Should we make it illegal for kids to ride big wheels on public property too? What about cars? Oh, they're fine I guess they're relatively efficient and pollution free compared to Segways ;-)

Useless? I bet your average 1st or 2nd grader could educate you on how a Segway might be useful. Hmm.. You've got me thinking now. Anybody down for a Segway simulator ? :-P Ash, what do you say? "Transpiration device"?! Which definition are we looking at here under the word "Transpire"...........? 1. A device for making things occur, happen or take place? 2. A device used for the giving-off of waste matter? 3. A device which allows odour and secretions to escape through the pores of the skin? 4. A device which allows knowledge and information to escape from secrecy or which aids in the leaking of confidential information? Fascinating! And I always thought that the Skegway was a form of personal, solo, transport. Any bets how long it takes until the Segway will require a licence tag, and taxes must be paid if you want to use it on public streets? And of course a special drivers licence, there's a lot of money to be made by the governments worldwide with this new vehicle :) Achim

No, it won't go that far. First will come the lawsuit to make the smegway handicapped friendly. After they can't get it to work for a quadriplegic it will be taken off the market and a class action lawsuit will bankrupt the company. It won't last long enough to be taxed by the government.
