Just wanted to say thanks for the good racing at Infineon..
Ran second for a while, 'till I put it in the dirt with a few laps left.
Got spun once while in third position which put me back to seventh, no big
deal.
Made it back to fourth for the finish.
From what I saw, some really clean racing and most of the lap cars moved out
of the way safely.
Most fun I have had in a road race for a while...
Thanks again.
Dave (KnektR)
Same for me, Dave.
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and, if I did obstruct anyone, it was
totally unintentional and part of the on-line learning process.
I did nudge Mark Seery coming into the last straight before the hairpin at
the pit straight and, from my vantage point, the contact speed wasn't
sufficient to move a car even slightly off-line, as Mark had slowed to keep
pace with a car in front of him.
Yet my nudge resulted in Mark being punted violently off the track.
This is obviously (now that I'm aware of it) a result of lag and warp - to
my eyes Mark's car was beyond my front bumper but, in cyberspace, he was
probably in my front seat, thus the resulting explosive orbital launch
sequence.
So I have learned that when I see a car in front which is "dancing" to leave
MUCH more room between me and it!
It may not actually be where I see it to be.
One thing that I did notice which I've also experienced in real-life motor
sport, and which I consider made the difference between AI and HI (Human
Intelligence), was the ability to place pressure on the driver in front of
you, to the extent that if he tries to go faster or brake later in order to
hold you off then he may do something wrong. That worked at least once for
me. :)
Bruce.

See? -If you'd gone the online route when the rest of us did, you'd have
known about that. Back then it was generally considered "ok" to make these
kinds of mistakes as well. Silly old git... <vbg>
By Jove.... I think he's got it!! <vbseg>

I'm glad Bruce and the other Rascar virgins ran today. I was worried we
would have a light turnout. One online suggestion. Use the F2 key to bring
up the running order and hit the Space bar to give time between cars before
backing across the track after an incident. That way you can avoid the 100
mph doorshot that I gave you.
Kyle
Yep - you are totally correct, Kyle, and I could have slashed my wrists when
I realised what I'd done to you.
Now that I know who it was I inconvenienced, please accept my apology.
I twigged about 10 laps in that if I used the toggle of F2 I could keep an
eye on who was coming up and how fast.
Bruce.
Jeez - you're lucky you smiled when you said that, Verschueren!
Bruce.
