After a multi month hiatus from N2K2 I picked up a used copy of N2K3 on Amazon. After running a few practice laps I logged on to Sierra and joined a race at Michigan. A guy won pole with a time of 32xx.???? During the race, which I watched, the top guys were turning sub-34 laps. If I'm not mistaken, the Nascar record couldn't be much below 37. What gives?

What was the temp set at? Alot of fellows have been setting online races to 40 degrees. I tried one or two of those online races a few years ago and decided it was not for me. Artificial speed is artificial. dave henrie
Still, with 40 degrees you cant drive a 32 sec lap, 36,0 maybe but thats it. I dunno how they do it Peter, i;m very happy with a qualli of 36 low and a racelap of 36,5. Maybe edited ini's, unrealistic setups with driving aids or all that things together. "Dave Henrie" <[email hidden]> schreef in bericht news:[email hidden]...

I observed the lead guy, who claimed to be 62 yrs old, hitting 218 mph on the straights. I suspect it's the so-called unrealistic setup bug. If so, it's a lot worse than I realized. -Peter
Well, I was once in a fuel-stop-required race where the winner never made a stop, so there ARE ways to win other than being the best driver. -Larry "Peter Ford" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Doesn't NR2003 have something like 750 HP instead of what the real cars have, 700? With a good setup, and possibly exploiting some setup/game bugs (just a guess here), certainly people would be able to pull those times. -Will
