Champ Car 2006 By iDT Released For rFactor

This mod was apparently released in haste by iDT to pre-empt an in- house leak. It looks and drives thrillingly with great skins and FFB. But it's going to need some updating. The mirrors are marginally functional, the ride height parameters were accidentally inverted and the effects of the boost feature seem- to me- disappointingly undramatic. And the cars suck fps big time. An LOD problem, it seems.

The boost can by implemented full time in the setup, just put it on 3. It's an awesome mod imo. It really takes skill to drive it on the edge. It's in my HOF!

Impossible to recreate in rFactor without new coding, I'm afraid. OTOH, you read that ISI threw in some additional lines for the new Le Mans 79 track at the request of Virtua_LM. So, maybe there's hope..... OT: The RSC forums are out of action for a few days. It seems they're migrating to a new server.

Hopefully they will add more hamster wheels at the same time :) -Larry <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > OT: The RSC forums are out of action for a few days. It seems they're > migrating to a new server. >
What does HOF mean? Anyway ok mod, obviously a work in progress and no tracks. Finding or making good tracks in rfactor is a challange. rFactor could use some gfx upgrades, lighting, AA, sky boxes, shadows, etc, etc.. imo. Starting to look really dated.
I tried the ChampCar mod last night and like it quite a bit. Has anyone else found that the mirrors cannot be adjusted in ther vertical, or might those functions have been mapped to other keys? Excellent mod though, driving these cars is a hoot! Now there's the new ALMS mod out to try... so many mods, so little time! ;-) Cheers, uwe -- GPG Fingerprint: 2E 13 20 22 9A 3F 63 7F 67 6F E9 B1 A8 36 A4 61

I like driving it too. But the tire models on the Champ Car mod and on the ALMS mod don't feel up to current standards. The tires just don't respond naturally. I was practicing online yesterday with David Martinez, who has raced Champ Cars in real life, and he said the same thing. H Hope they can improve it soon! Getting the rear to stick under braking seems to be the biggest problem with these cars. If you can get a setup to help with that, then it's a blast to drive.. Varano rocks too..

Hi Kendt, check out http://www.racesimtracker.com/, it seems to be a goo replacement for rtracker.org. You can also take a look at www.rfactorcentral.com, it goes under the name of SCC I think (sports car challenge).
