Hi,
Just purchased this sim and noticed that after 3 or 4 minutes in the
opponent manager screen, my pc locks up. I've read posts that say to change
to OpenGL or change to 600x800, but this didn't help. Anyone else have
ideas?

Radeon 9000 Pro 128MB

I thought avoiding OpenGl was the solution. Isn't nr2k3 a dx9
product?(can't remember)

Well then HURRY! :) I guess you should look at drivers and/or turning
off fsaa or other graphic goo-gaws.

I have the same problems. I created a new driver called paintguy and select
him when I am using opponent manager. I don't have a clue as to why but this
does seem to work.

I don't have any problems, but I dont use an ATI card, this is what I seem to remember reading.
Make sure you're running Catalyst v 3.5 or later, and try turning off the menu animations by
adding -freezanims to your desktop shortcut or menu choice.
Target path should look like this after the change provided you installed to the default
location.....
"C:\Papyrus\NASCAR Racing 2003 Season\NR2003.exe" -freezeanims

Might try the latest drivers, including DirectX. I was under the
impression you needed DirectX9 for NR03. If you have have a sound
card, you might try switching pci slots or even trying the game w/out
to see if the lockup persists. Good luck.

if it goes 3 or 4 minutes before lockup...get your business done fast
then exit the opponent manager! :) more of my feeble logic.
Since the opponent manager is used to generally setup a race field, once
you have that done, it can be ignored. Hopefully the patch may/will
address this issue.
