Hi all..loaded the patch from the pits and now I keep crashing to the
desktop? Anybody experience this?

For some reason mine does this too with out the patch! I tried to
re-install it with no luck?? I am still looking for a fix.( amd1700+
,758mb ram ,gforce440mx,8x xp home )

I hate to say, this but EXACTLY where? When you click on the launch Icon?
or when you get in and goto where?
BTW no use installing patch, cant use it online yet, as it is no longer
"official" er apparenlty never was...
If patch ever does make it out, be sure to make a copy of the "working"
unpatched install, by copying the folder "nascar racing 2003" or whatever it
named on your machine, found inside the "papyrus" folder. so if patch
fails, you can easily get back what you lost... and try again.
2 tries and no work, I'd suspect bad DL of patch.
after another copy of patch and no work, I would suspect bad file in NR2003,
better delete and reinstall from scratch

Just to clearify....it's in all likelihood the real McCoy unless
something changes in the last minute, it's not "officially" released yet
and you can't use it online, but other than that.....

Mine goes to desktop in a few places during the game. Sometimes clicking to
race after qualifying,sometimes during the race in the first lap. I am sorry
I bought the game now :( I hope a patch will fix it.
