Given the amount of time since the games release and given that Papy is
out of the NASCAR business and thus has little to gain is it safe to assume
that there will be no patch for NASCAR 2003?
There's one in QC right now. An unofficial but probably final beta of it is
publicly available at www.theuspits.com and other sites.

Good Lord, where do they grow your type? It's been 6 WHOLE MONTHS
since the game even hit the shelves, probably 5 since the real issues
started to pop up and then time to eval, develop and finally test a
patch. Doesn't seem to hard to believe to me.
Well, some of us have been waiting for the patch since June, when it was
promised that it would be released! We were told early summer or mid
July.....both of which have passed! Papy and Sierra need to get their shit
straight and release the damn thing. I have the beta version, and the
gameplay and Mod's are just great! Some of us are dis-honest and download
stuff like that when we see it! I am a lawman to, but not afraid to admit I
grab the beta stuff when it gets accidentally posted by the company idiot!

And exactly what "type" would you say I am and how does my "type" compare to
one whose "type" apparently feels an uncontrollable need to stuff his ego
by attacking complete strangers who ask simple questions?

Thanks for the steer. What the interview
here:http://www.theuspits.com/news/index.html#newsitem1060806392,68165
says about "lowest possible priority" certinly explains the delays.
Irritating but considering the NASCAR line is history, understandable from a
bean-counter's perspective.
I am new to this but I understand that the game is so good that it is likely
to aquire a status similar to that enjoyed by Grand Prix Legends which seems
have a reputation of still being the best available in spite of its age.

The type that obviously hasn't spent more than 5 minutes reading posts
in R.A.S., RSC, HG or the Papy boards that concern the CONFIRMED
patch, that Papy/Sierra has commented on numerous occaisons.
Or the type that feel the need to post messages so contrary to common
sense and common knowledge, just to "stuff his ego" and see his name
on the computer monitor.
Also, just in case you didn't know, the Earth ISN'T flat. I didn't
want you to have to post a message along the lines of "Earth..falling
of the edge...a patch?"
The earth is not flat? You're kidding, right? Has to be flat or
everyone north of the equator would fall off.
