Racing games with active railroad crossings

A user asked for racing games with railroad crossings as hazards. Replies listed Monster Truck Madness, 4x4 Evo, Need for Speed titles, Rallisport Challenge and Ignition, and noted the rail tracks at Sachsenring in GPL and the San Jose Champ Car street circuit.

I was wondering if there are any racing games out there that have active railroad crossings out there that pose an actual in game hazard? The closest Ive seen was Burnout Revenge- I remenber seing an active train running along side a street that you could run in to. Ditto for the Kindiack Park level of NFS:HS Need for speed Underground- A train crosses the street in one of the drag races but it finishes before any of the cars reach it. It was in the demo but was removed and replaced with a static train in the retail version! Right now, those are the only racing games that have something like this I can think of. Any others?

No trains, but cross traffic is possible. rFactor's Neurburg Village Travel crosses itself. The effect, I think, is similar but even more so.
Monster Truck Madness (Microsoft) has active railway crossings. Tim <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Perfect illustration why trying to use unmarked railroad crossing in F1 car is not a good idea :)

I was wondering if there are any racing games out there that have > active railroad crossings out there I would like to see boat ramps so that I could occasionally wash my car. <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Actually, I think it would be interesting if a racing game features hazards such as tornadoes, high speed winds, floods, and lightning that can fry the electrical system of your car. Perhaps even an earthquake or two. :)

Maybe even toss in some lightning hitting corner workers and deer flying up in the air off the nose of an F1 car!

If somebody ever does a version of the San Jose Grand Prix, there's a spot where the Champ Cars bounce over the light-rail lines downtown. Or did they change that this year? I was there last year watching right at that spot, and it was quite amazing how much the cars bounced going over that.

Oops, I guess that was 2005, actually. So I"m two years out of the loop.

I think they fixed and smoothed out the crossing because of this very issue. The cars were getting damaged, not to mention jarring the snot out of the drivers. There was a video on Youtube I recall that had "before and after" videos of that crossing.

Thanks. A while ago, I was using T3ED to move the track where the train runs (couldn't do the reverse because there was no way to get to the train itself in the editor so I had to move the *road* instead), and had the train street running through that part. The strangest thing was, at the end of the segment, the train would *dive through * the road and disappear under it! Very funny to look at. I would also use the cheat code that enables you to blow out the tires of the car in front of you, and I would spend time blowing out all of the cars' tires and watch the train ram them. Yes, I really am that twisted. >:)

Was the train crossing or street running?

That 4WD racing game... 4x4 Evo. One of the tracks has a train... and a train bridge. If you time it right, you can cut across the bridge and make a major shortcut. If not... I think there's also a similar track in Monster Truck Madness, same developer. --KC

On a moderate run, you can take the jump behind the engine.

The train is moving on the PC version, here is a clip from a video I made of NFS Underground 1 career mode: http://jeffareid.net/nfs7/n7drag.wmv For anyone (both of you) interested, here is Underground 1 career mode condensed into an 11 minute video, cutscenes and highlights of events. If you haven't seen Underground 1 before the graphics are pretty nice. 800x600 version: http://jeffareid.net/nfs7/n7movie.wmv 640x480 version: http://jeffareid.net/nfs7/n7movie6.wmv
