ever since the patch for nr2003 when i hit exit my system just hangs, and
all i can do is reboot, has anyone been experiencing this? is there
anything i can do to combat this?
it also seems to hang my system when i try and get 3d sound to work (i have
an audigy, i should prolly try the latest drivers).
jonathan
should mention this is over a fresh install of NR2003, graphics card is a
GF4ti4200 with the 45.23's.

(I have a GF4 Ti4400 with the the same drivers). My desktop sounds are also
messed up (some echo when I play DVD, click sound when I'm browsing with IE,
etc). I had to go in the SB control panel and change the "effects" to "none"
to fix the problem. Dunno if it's the 3D sound from the game that causes the
problem. I initially thought it was my BGN patch (the one without the shadow
thingy) that caused the problem.... ah welll.....

I had that echo thing (Audigy) and tried the latest drivers. The install
didn't work for some reason, but when I came out of it, reloading the old
ones, the echo was fixed. :) I suspect the drivers might be suceptible
to corruption of some sort?

i went through these problems too. i went old -> new and then they just
stopped working so then went back to old and it worked. whenever i tried
the new drivers it would either have an echo in F1C (well most programs
aside from winamp) or no sound within 1 reboot of the install...this was no
fun.
i don't know if it has anything to do with the problem but i noticed all pci
cards and my agp were on the same irq...i know xp is supposed to be able to
handle this, but in the GPL FAQ's on RSC forum it's mentioned that GPL may
not work with that...so i configured the irq's in the bios, i've read that
apparently xp just takes these as a suggestion and not a requirement...well
it managed to get the sound card separate from most everything.
Had my problems with NASCAR last night, and tried the new drivers with the
changed irq's and all seems to be working, no clue if those 2 actually are
just coincidence or if that was the real problem...my system has certainly
been a little less buggy though.
