This is my very first time starting an OT thread (been on the net for years)
so please bear with me but . . .
If I hear one more American, right wing, tv, political talking head putting
down the usually left wing media "elites" instead of the "elite" I think
I'm going to scream and throw a hard object at the screen.
I know usages change in all langauges but "elite" is its own plural.
As a "CNN, MS/NBC, CNBC" aholic I am getting completely frazzled by the
very sound of it. The truly elite are disapearing and the "elites" are
taking over.
Idiots!

Cretins, some of these people. Utterly brain-dead and, although they are in
positions which require a high level of English comprehension, some of them
are lucky to be able to string together the simplest of sentences.
