From the little I know about programming...yes its possible but you have to be
Papyrus to do it. In order to do this you need the source code which nobody
but Papy has. So dont hold your breath waiting for some one (or group of
people) to turn GPL into a modern CART sim. Now someone might make a CART
carset for GPL and maybe even a CART carshape but dont expect new handling
characteristics. There are a very very few people talented enough to do this
that dont already work for a programming firm. You can hope...but like I said,
dont hold your breath.
And to answer your second question no...nobody AFAIK is working on it.
Chris
i doubt that they could make that im not no GPL know-it-all but i think they
would have to change the............. ahh hell, what am i saying... lmao

Or be able to accurately decompile the EXE. Maybe one could add weather
& championship seasons for F2 & F3 while they're at it. ;-)
I doubt it'll ever happen. =-(

Think about it...it wouldn't be as hard as doing CART, since aero was not
adjustable (was it?) or at least not a huge factor...
Really, you would only need to make new 3d models, a new cockpit for closed
cars, new sounds...
That, and you would only need to edit the code a little to up the weight of
the cars and change the collision detection (unless that automatically
changes with the 3d models) and prolly change the tire characteristics a
little...one mod that may need to be done (under collision detection) would
be to eliminate the flipping etc that happens when you bang wheel to
wheel...GPL may have that coded in separately from the collision, who
knows...of course it doesn't happen in Trans Am...

I gather that the structure of GPL must be really different from N2 (or
N1999), since the Pits has a touring car championship which modifies the
handling of the N2/99 cars.
