I've been avidly watching the threads on this game on r.a.s. Although it
stinks big style on my machine (P3550, Annihilator Pro, 256MB RAM)
it seems some of you out there are getting along with what on paper are
inferior video cards.
My thoughts are gravitating towards there being an issue with the Geforce
card - any thoughts out there in sim land on this one?
When the frame rate occasionally improves, I will concede that there appears
to be quite an exciting racer lurking in the undergrowth.
I'm willing to be that it won't be long before we see an official patch.
On the whole though, I can't say I'm wildly optimistic about getting this
game to work as it should. Like many of you, I'm still recovering from the
stygian depths of depression I went through in trying to get an acceptable
result from Nascar Revolution.
Come on EA Sports, prove to use all that you are not merely interested in
selling a good looking box.
I use the Geforce and it works pretty good now.
What you have to do is open a file under save that is "player.PLR" and
enable MIPMap=1 under graphic options and then you will see some change in
the speed.
Other than that I think this game rocks, I just cant stop playing it once I
start.
Very good job EA.

I have a PIII 533E, GeForce (Annihilator - not pro) and 128 RAM.
I get a very smooth frame rate.
I run it in 800x600 with number of cars visible set to ten and all texture
and detail levels set to high.
I set distances, effects etc to medium.
Maybe you need to adjust your settings a little?
Do you have the Nvidia reference drivers 3.68 or 3.77? They are essential.
Also, I turn off my virus checking, ZoneAlarm, Enternet etc. while playing
the game.
Doing this gives me 15fps extra in GPL and probably more here.

P3 500, CLAP, 256 RAM
All settings on (high) except movies and mirrors
Frame rates over 30 is this not acceptable?
Tip - overclock the CLAP
