Help! Some time ago, I changed the plr file to get the 2003 rules about single lap qualifying. Now, I want to change it back, but can't remember how! Any help guys? Thanks Iain

That is what I thought. However, those are the settings I have, and if I do 4 laps in qualifying I get disqualified! Any more thoughts? Iain "Richard S Beckett" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:bm0t0c$e5u$[email hidden]...

F1c has alot of extra .gdb files for each track or season. Poke around the individual seasondata seasondata\trackfolders to examine the various track.gdb files. It might have been in there. dave henrie(sorry not enough time to verify, the missus has shopping plans or some such nonsense...) dave henrie

Not in the strictest sense Eldred. You can reduce the number of laps allowed from 12 to 3 and the duration from 60 to 20 minutes for example, but it won't be setup for each driver to go seperately either one at a time or all at the same time on an empty track like Papy's NASCAR Racing. In the F1C league I'm in, we run one at a time for the out lap and hot lap and then escape back to the pits. We tell everyone the order ahead of time and each driver takes their turn. The next driver to go, exits the pits when the driver running his lap crosses the start finish line to begin his hot lap. It goes pretty quickly. The file to edit is F1_2002.gbd in the SeasonData folder. Use notepad and change the following lines: QualifyDuration = 60 QualifyLaps = 12 to QualifyDuration = 20 QualifyLaps = 3 Bill "EldredP" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Cool! That will do what I need to do. Can I assume that I can also change the practice length as well? I'll have to look through that file... Thanks, Bill! OK, I've sussed it! In my case it has nothing to do with the plr file or the gbd. It is down to Ralph Hummerich's 2003 update. I think the single lap thing is hard coded there, because if I go back to the 2002 season, the number of laps is 12. Thanks anyway, Iain "Bill Worrel" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > > Not in the strictest sense Eldred. > > You can reduce the number of laps allowed from 12 to 3 and the durationfrom

Beautiful! So, I can set those figures for the real race Sunday, and it will run efficiently even if I *don't* race in it myself. I don't have to hang around to kick the server to the next session. I haven't turned a lap at Suzuka since GP2, so I know I'm way off the pace... I'll probably just stay out of the way. Although, I haven't found a solution for the server car staying on the grid yet. Bill, got an answer for that??? :-) Eldred -- Homepage - http://www.umich.edu/~epickett Member Screamers Racing League IICC League GPLRank -2.4 MoGPL rank +302.38 ChallengeRank +54.48 MoC +743.77 Hist. +82.82 MoH in progress N2k3 rank:in progress Remove SPAM-OFF to reply.

Of course, Bill. Why didn't I think of that? Thanks a lot - I can sleep well tonight! (well, probably not actually because the Suzuka 1st qual is on rather late!) Jeeze Eldred: Don't you like to race with us? If I'm there you probably won't be last. Allow Stability assist if you want. Anyone with a decent computer, that's not me, and a cable modem can host the number of cars we've been seeing. It's nice to have a fast host with a fast connection, but I don't know if it's worth having you wade a half an hour each way through swamps filled with carnivorous lizards in the blinding snow on Sunday morning to start a server for a race you aren't going to drive. But since we don't have a full field, it might not matter much. I'm not sure I'll have time to get enough practice to keep from spinning every other lap. We'll see come race time.

Actually, now that I know how to change some settings, it's a "set-and-forget" race now. Once I start the race, it can procede without my intervention. I'm still looking for a way to automatically eliminate the server car. I even tried to contact EA Sports for assistance. They were about as useful as a screen door on a submarine... Try contacting some of the ISI guys instead. Some of them hang out on different web based forums. Can't remember which ones, but Dave H. or somebody else can probably steer you in the right direction. Or you can go to their website and try the contact e-mails listed there. www.imagespaceinc.com if memory serves.
