Well, I suppose this depends on what they mean by a "driveable corner."
Judging from the report, it sounds like they may actually speed the series
of chicanes up a bit, and try and cut down on the curb-bashing which has
caused so much chaos and so many tears in the past. If so, I'm all for
it--the chicanes do make for some mighty braking ( and hence passing, yes
Bernie). . . but that's about it.

On www.alphaf1.com, Febuary 3rd, there was an article about Monza
changing the first set of chicanes in to a "Driveable Corner". Work on
the changes starting July and Finished before the GP on September 10th.
Now since EA F1 2000 is using the 2000 season (tracks, cars, drivers)
will they beable to get the plans for the new monza, will there be an
update or will we have to settle for the current layout of Monza. I'm
gonna e-mail ISI regarding this and see if they reply. If they do I'll
post a message here. Hopefuly we'll be first to drive on the new layout
of Monza as well as Indy.
Impatiently waiting,

I don't want the new configuration. Enough track killing for me, all the
reports say that they have killed Monza with the new corner changes. Don't
ask me what's their problem with changing circuits. They changed Hockenheim
only so that sponsors would have less blurry shots of the cars (it's the one
and only reason), now they are modifying another track for absolutely no
reason. I've heard it would be a slow corner, kinda like the second chicane
at Imola. Poor Tifosis, Bernie is getting them in their own Mecca.

I have recieved a reply from ISI regarding the new monza layout. I'll just sum
it up.
1) They do have connections so they can get the new layout for monza.
2) It probably won't make it in to the released version.
3) There will very likely be a patch to update the track at a later date.
4) ISI Representitive said it'd be EA's choice if it was downloadable as they
market the product.
Might have more later as I did e-mail EA Europe (Publishers) of F1 2000.
Hopefuly they will reply too. Here's for the best...

I'm afraid they killed Monza as a great racetrack a long time ago. They
really finished it off when they reprofiled the Lesmos to slow the cars
down.
Having said that, if you ever get the chance to go to the GP, the
atmosphere is fantastic.
